That was a great flight. It was really hazy out, so everything looked dreamy. And the first Bradley Approach air traffic controller had this nice calm, quiet, sleepy voice. I was sad when we had to switch to the next guy. The plane seemed extra-quiet, too; maybe I just had my ears in especially well. And my seat seemed exceptionally comfortable. It's weird, because I felt a little wired, earlier.

I need to figure out some warm skirts outfits, because a skirt really is the ideal flight gear. They are just very comfortable and perfect. Maybe I can sew an extra-snuggly skirt or something. Anyway, dinner at Nancy's was fantastic. I was totally in the mood for what I was eating. I finally got to try the lamb burger, and it was the best. When he was letting us out, the FBO told us that the lambs live right near his house and he can hear them going "baaa" on spring mornings. That was a bit of a weird thing to tell someone who just ate a lamb burger, I thought. (Not that it bothered me any.)

I couldn't take another White Van Encounter, so I went to Shrunkin' instead of Starbucks. The one right across the street. Ha! I wonder if anyone at Rocky saw me betraying them? Avoidance may be a cop-out, but it's pretty effective.

nope![edit: cappuccino foam clouds this evening]

Store Manager, to barista: Tall dry cappuccino!
Friendly Guy, chiming in: Extra extra dry!
...
F.G: It's not like she's going to throw it back over the counter at us.
S.M.: You never know. You just haven't seen that side of her.
...
Barista, a few minutes later: Tall extra extra extra dry cappuccino!

Too bad it wasn't actually dry at all! It was the first bad cappuccino I've had at Rocky in ages. Too hot, too strong, and the caved-in foam had extra extra extra large bubbles. I could hardly complain after all that, though, could I?

But that was yesterday. I had a good cappuccino today. And today is Anti-Linear Brain's fifth anniversary! This will be my 4500th post. (!)

Speaking of dates, the date on my premium new watch already broke. I noticed yesterday that it was stuck on the first. Obviously, I don't look at the date on my watch very often since it never works anyway. I wonder why my watch's date always croaks? Is it something about me? Could be because I exist outside of time.

There's a great review of Modern Times and Bob's New Britain concert in this week's Advocate, and it's by Boonstra. [Edit: Oh and check out the first Modern Times quote to appear as a Boonstra film review headline! From "Ain't Talkin'."]

"Bob Dylan's Modern Times Debuts At #1 On Billboard Chart." Wow, that's crazy.

My ears are tired. We went on a huge flight! About 3.6 hours total. It was nice and cloudy. We flew on top of the clouds (sunny!) part of the way there. First we flew to Blairstown, New Jersey--we were going to eat at the Runway Cafe and review it for TFF, but it closed at 2:00 today for Labor Day, and we got there a few minutes after two. But that was okay, because we'd planned Rick's as a backup. Rick's warm apple pie was incredible!!! And I am not even a pie person. Anyway, Blairstown was happenin'! There were a zillion gliders there, soaring around on the updrafts above this big ridge. Normal airplanes pulled them up, then set them free to glide around like birds. It was bumpy near Blairs, which was fun! That whole area of New Jersey and New York is full of farms. Barns, silos, fields. Wow, I'm tired. After Rick's we took a detour to Band-ville on the way home and flew alongside the Catskills and over the huge Ashokan Reservoir (which Richard and Garth's house on Spencer Road had a great view of). Flew over Woodstock and Saugerties (Big Pink-ville). Spotted Overlook Mountain, which overlooks Big Pink. The Catskills are beautiful--very blue. And the big wide silver Hudson River. I took some pictures. We should go back with Band sites programmed into the GPS.

I had three dreams again. Not about flying, although we have plans to fly to New Jersey and/or New York today. I can't remember the first one (it was good, though; I was a made-up-for-the-dream guy in it).

The second one was an A-Team (!!) dream (I was Face!). They were investigating this guy, a professor I think, who was acting very strange, and Amy found a pile of teeny-tiny needles in his apartment. They were about an inch long, and very thin, almost slivers. She dropped them in Face's hand to show him, and a couple of them stuck him in the palm... they were drugs, and he was almost instantly affected. He didn't want Hannibal and B.A. to find out, because they are very anti-drug (it's not like it was his fault! but maybe he wasn't thinking too clearly), and he also thought Murdock would give it away if he knew, so he was begging Amy to cover it up, and trying to act normal so the others wouldn't notice. I felt really relaxed and drugged. It was great!!!

In the third dream, I had a pet swan who liked cuddling me on the couch. The swan actually requested it, and climbed right up next to me. It was very vivid and soft and feathery. Great dream. Magnificent bird.
