Barista (from behind bar): Is it good? Laura (drinking cappuccino at her table): *nods enthusiastically* Barista (doubtfully): Are you sure? Friendly Guy (on cashier duty): She's got her spoon.
True indeed. Although I always get my spoon, as a matter of course. The proof in the pudding is in using the spoon. But despite her misgivings, the foam was perfectly fine.
My eyes are insanely wonky this evening, for some reason. They also feel a bit HCl-ish. Crazyman at the airport was being scarily reckless tonight. Loop-de-loops in the dark right over the runway, and he sounded like he was FUI. (Crazyman does NOT = Dean.) I kept thinking of the Band guys.
Nancy's crisps are the greatest. Way better than a slackyman's crisp.
Can't see. I kept having to close my eyes at Nancy's. They're so messed up I almost feel nauseated. Well, this'll help me go to bed early, at least.

The new cord Dean made me is unbelievably fantastic. I don't know why exactly, but my Flighty tunes sound twice as good using it. So gorgeous, in a sky full of stars. And the voices over the radio still sound loud (unlike with the previous stereo cord that I tried for two seconds and hated because I felt out of touch with the plane), and I can choose between left-ear mode and stereo mode, using a nifty little switch. Normal mono cords (except for my original broken one) play in the right ear, and I'm left eared, so that's BAD. Plus Dean's cord is just the right length. New cord = perfect.
I went swimming again today (swam all the way across the pool on the bottom once, and again almost twice) and Dean knew the second he saw me, because of the smell of my hair. It's not a chlorine smell, either, apparently, but the smell of my special anti-chlorine shampoo. Weird. I love the sauna. Soaking-in-WARM, and my hair dries in ten minutes instead of two hours.
Here's a Thursday photo from this afternoon. We don't really have lime green walls, but that's how the color turned out after I auto-equalized it. All the other colors look normal, so it probably happened because I was listening to the Halloween episode of Themetime when I took it. (It's an excellent episode, even though I don't like Halloween.) [Edit: Oh, this is my first Thurs. photo featuring my new camera, I think. It looks a lot like my old camera, but it's not in the Museum of Modern Art.]

I really like my new pants (Uptown Consignment, natchity natch), despite the facts that 1) they are too big on me, and b) they have enough metal on them to star in an episode of Blake's Seven. That's eleven zippers and/or buckles. Very toothy zippers, too. Why do I like them? Because they are cream and they are pants, and I have an unhealthy fondness for cream-coloured pants. Also they are very soft wide-wale corduroy, and I like wales (weals and welts too). They look like I ought to wear them down to a very snowy planet.
My nose thinks it's too dry, and I agree with the nose. The nose knows. My eyes also semi-feel like my contacts are made out of sandpaper. I keep telling them, One week 'til moist, warm air! But they don't listen.
I saw an orange Karmann Ghia today. The former Krispy Kreme looks good as a Citibank. They are building a Stew Leonard's where Caldor (aka The Borange Store) used to be. Based on the description on wikipedia (re: "the store" section), I'm a little (okay, very) afraid to go there. That's all the latest Ber. Turnpike news from ALB, the worst source for news on the web.

Good grief, it felt like it was about 55° in A&P (based on the fact that it was 50° outside and it barely felt warmer). My hands are numb. I went swimming this morning (well, afternoon), which was not cold, especially since I lizarded back up in the sauna afterwards to dry my hair. Swimming is tiring in a very pleasurable fullbody way that just makes you feel peaceful and mmmm. I swam across the pool 20 times, three of which were on the bottom. Practicing up.

Blogger's finally working again!
Spent all evening gluing. ("Glueing" looks better than "gluing.") Three simultaneous gluing projects! Four, except I don't know what to glue for that one.
Doing the final Blank Bob mailer is such a labor of love.
I'm eating my last package of li hing mui sour keikis. I've saved it since last December. They are good. Since I'll be able to buy more soon, it seemed the time to devour them.
Solder is cool.
We had to go to Radio Shack again (Dean's making me a nifty cord with switches) and hanging right near the wall o' drawers full of knobs and switches and pushbuttons and LEDs and etc. were THE magnets! The ones I used to be obsessed with when I was a little girl and Diane would take me along with her to Radio Shack to visit Sterlin. The exact magnets! I loved going to Radio Shack just because of those magnets.
