Terrible!! We went to ION for dinner (as we do practically every week), and they had a survey to fill out about whether we'd still come if they moved to New Haven!!! What the heck??? I wrote, "Don't do it! We'd cry!!!"

My gadget is awesome! ("Avon's gadget works!") It's a great pal. And, I am totally in love with the new boardshorts it helped me procure (giant mini-obsession visiting ten thousand different potential boardshorts store instances in the past three days after I tried on a pair and discovered how great they are). I now own the two best/best-fiting pairs in the entire world. (I know this because I compared all the other pairs to determine so.)
I feel like I should've written down the details of my dropping into the ocean in Tango dream. We were watching a fireworks show from the air, circling really low for a better view, and Dean did some maneuvers (very steep bank) and Tango just fell in. And got wet. Don't worry, it wouldn't happen in real life. I actually think I dreamed that because I want to be in the ocean. I feel very oceany! Just look at all the beautiful days that stretch out before us. ("A million nights stretch out before us!") I love summer.
The main thing about visiting the Gingers was that it was very relaxing (in spite of my not getting along with that bed). I've thought about why. Part of it was that there was nothing to do. That sounds bad/boring, but I mean it in a strangely good way. Like summer vacation when you're a kid. There was such a lack of schedules, responsibilities, activities, things that needed to be done. There was nothing do to, nowhere to go, just Hunter to be entertained and Dean to be looked out for. You had to invent games, kill time by playing Monopoly, make pancakes, eat watermelon, lounge in the hammock, get unprotestingly climbed all over, drag Duke across the floor, go for a ride with Diane, sit under a fan and sip wine and talk. It was hot, so things were slow and lazy.
(To be continued, but I want to post this before the rest of it is horribly out of date...)

My new gadget is pretty neat. It's a little hand-held GPS navigator, and I also have a stand so I can set it up on the dashboard of my car and glance at it while driving along (it gives verbal instructions, too). It even shows bike routes! Since I'm silly and I have to personalize everything, I made a custom splash screen for mine. :-) We tested it out last night by asking it to tell us how to get to Best Buy (it doesn't have Stew's, since Stew's is so new), and we learned this weird new back roads route that spit us out right across from it, without driving on the Berlin Turnpike! I'll have to try it on somewhere I actually don't know how to get to today, as soon as this gigantic headache I woke up with goes away. I'm not sure if it's caused by the early AM stump-grinding machine (?) blarring outside my window, or the dream I had about crashing into the ocean in Tango. (!) Actually it wasn't a bad dream at all, so that probably wasn't the cause.

UPS Guy: How're you doing? Me: Great!! UPS Guy: Now that this is here, right?
Posted at 5:42:00 PM by Laura W. Petix.
I'm on tenterhooks today, hanging around the house, because I'm expecting a UPS delivery (my new gadget!) and I don't know when it will arrive. I have to sign for it. It's maddening! I did go out for a short while earlier, but I got paranoid every time I saw a UPS truck (which happened multiple times... it was really creepy). Very silly, especially since I didn't even know I wanted one!
Stew's iced coffee is the greatest. And it's so cheap!
I massively injured my neck/shoulder last night somehow (sleeping) and I can't turn my head to the right. It's quite annoying. This morning I dreamed about the G's birthday bash (sort of)... in the dream, the Gs had a huge house with a zillion rooms, and everyone was staying there. June was snoozing in the room next to mine. Jan showed up right before I awoke (I was really happy to see her). Maybe dreaming about staying at the Gs is how I hurt my neck. My back is a huge non-fan of the bed at the Gs, and still hasn't recovered from our visit. My back is a wimp.
I also still haven't written my third post about visiting the Gingers, but I really am going to do it! I hope.
WHERE IS MY GADGET??? WHERE IS ORAC???

List of good things about The Order of The Phoenix movie: 1) Snape, 2) Luna. The rest was a bungled, poorly summarized mess. What a waste. A lot of the most important parts of the book were either completely wrong, missing, or didn't make sense if you hadn't read the book. And Snape's Worst Memory was a total gyp!!! Basically, compared to the book, the movie was pathetic. No depth, characterization, or emotional resonance. It was like reading Cliff's Notes, except they weren't even accurate notes.
