I just re-read all my posts from last time we went to Grand. They were so good! Especially the food. "I still don't know if I like scuba, but I like Grand. Grand is foodie heaven!" LOL.

The wind is blowing and blowing today. Blow, wind, blow. (Themetime Weather.) Rain, too. It sounds like a car wash out there. This is the first time my pal the wind has been around this fall, though, so I'm grateful. We went to Dara's again (aka Thai Angel) and it was fantastic. We are both addicted to Dara's. It was only the second time we ate there, but we also got takeout on the day we planted the bulbs and attempted to get takeout last weekend (but it was closed). It's not very close, either. But it's worth it. Great things at Dara's: the green tea (it's jasmine green tea and smells wonderful), the Tom Kar Gai soup (would be perfect after a night dive, or to cure vog symptoms), the pineapple fried rice w/shrimp (served inside a pineapple, just like at the real Dara's; great raisins and cashews), and, best of all, the mango sticky rice! Yes, they actually have good mango sticky rice! I got sweet & sour duck today, and it was good, too. Quack.

Dean got new tires for my Beag (the tread on the old ones was getting low) and they are cool! They're the same as Lex's, but smaller, of course. I get to try them out tomorrow when I have to drive from HFD to MMK to pick up Dean, since Tango's going in for his annual. I'll probably listen to Cold Cold Ground the entire drive. Number of times I've listened to Cold Cold Ground now: 29. All but two were yesterday or today.

Oh, and I made a new campaign poster! (You have to imagine the sheep saying "Baaaab Barr" when you read it.)

My neck is slightly better.

I'm kind of addicted to Tom Waits' "Cold Cold Ground." I listened to it eight times in a row today (so far), plus four times in a row last night. And I don't even like any other Tom Waits songs.

My neck/shoulders are still kind of messed up, and it's wearying. I keep sleeping late but waking up tired, I think because it's not a good sleep thanks to the neck.

I feel strong lately, though, like I'm subtly more muscular from regularly(ish) going to NEAC. I really like it. When my neck feels better I'll enjoy it more.

I just went outside to bring the trash out to the curb and I really enjoyed the crispness in the air. Of course, I was all hot from vacuuming, but, hey, it's progress. Sort of.

!!? More attention for my arm warmers, and I wasn't even wearing them in a conspicuous way today. I had on my grey pair underneath the sleeves of my Avon jacket, so only the paws were sticking out, but the girl at the Dunkin' Donuts drive-through window asked me about them. When I told her they were arm warmers and where I got them, she said "They're really cute!" then turned around and told the two other guy workers behind her, "They're arm warmers!" like they had all been discussing it!! I have no idea how any of them could even see them (through the camera thing??). Bizarreness.

Middletown leavesI went to the new ION Market again, but I still don't like it. It's the only place to get Chocolatemint Metromint water, though. They also have Cherrymint, but I did not try it. (I think Cucumbermint sounds much better than Cherrymint. Why don't they invent that flav?) Anyway, when I was at the Russell Library, this random lady started asking me all about my arm warmers. (I was wearing them on top of my skinny-armed alpaca sweater, which is the best combination ever.) She thought they were a great idea to get her Wesleyan student daughter. Ha!

I got three potential books for our Sky Trip: A Report from Group 17, the only Robert C. O'Brien book I have yet to read (all the others were real page-turners, so I figure it's a good bet), Minnow on the Say, by Philippa Pearce (I think I got this by mistake, because I saw it next to Tom's Midnight Garden when I was looking for another book by another J-PEA author, but I can't remember what the original book was now), and Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House (I really liked We Have Always Lived in the Castle). They all look nice and short and absorbing. Hopefully they actually are. Oh, and I couldn't resist opening Tom's Midnight Garden for a quick inhale. Old and faded and just right.

The maple trees are half-bare now. It goes with Disc 3. Disc three is rather... I don't know the word I want. Haunted? In a good way. Decaying. Like Tom's Midnight Garden. Autumnal. Churchyard-ish.

1) It's pink grapefruit scarfing time!
B) "Mississippi" unreleased version #3 = wow. All the little differences in the lyrics feel like they're speaking right to my intimate soul. The released version is still better, but, wow. I've only listened to it once and I love it already.

Okay, I have disc three! (!!)

I love my new iPod. I feel so much more in touch with/inspired about my music collection since I got it. And it's cool setting album art (if there isn't a real one, I make one up), then seeing the beautiful little graphic when a song is playing. I didn't think I'd care about/like album art at all, but I really do. When I see it, I think about the song in a more visual way.

I have a gigantically injured neck again. I have no idea why; I must've just slept on it wrong and aggravated my messed up neck disc. I can't turn/tilt it to the left, which makes driving kind of painful/difficult. My throat feels mostly better, though!

Also, I love my arm warmers. (Aka "paw covers.") They are so perfect for me. I got another pair today, just the same but in soft grey.

I can't tell if I'm getting sick or not. I'm cold and my throat hurts, but those might just be fall symptoms. My throat always hurts this time of year, doesn't it? Because it's so dry. I also feel sleepy and sort of spacy, though, so I'm not sure what that's about. And I'm craving soup and strawberry ice cream. Not good.

I officially love my new nano. I became pals with it very quickly (we were friends by insane o'clock on Friday night/morning), unlike my last one that took a lot of trauma to transition to from my mini. The new menus aren't just snazzier looking, they actually add useful information too.
