Not that I'm especially interested in the answer, but I love the phrasing of the question. On Ask MetaFilter: I want to sleep like a starfish, not like Dracula.

I tried on some arm warmers at a bike shop today, and they were not only too loose but also too short, and the bike shop lady, who also has scrawny arms like mine, said I have extra-long arms for my size (as does she). I had never noticed this before, but afterwards I started observing how my arms stick out about an inch below the sleeves of my sweater, before my wrists start. Hmmm. That's weird. Dean says it's better than highwaters. True.

Anyway, I found some summer arm warmers on Etsy that I really like, and I contacted the seller about making them extra-skinny for me! I love Etsy. It already says they're "extra long" so I think they'd fit in the other direction.

Hahaha, Susie sent me this link from the Hartford Courant: Ashamed Of Your Street's Name? It's so GREAT!!! Roast Meat Hill Road! I read the first few paragraphs out loud to Dean.

Nancy's new Nancita 'Rita is exxxxcellent. Bartending school paid off!

I put my starrry scarf to good use again, in Tango. With three rrrs. It helps protect me from the blowy ceiling vent, which I am very vulnerable to, especially my left arm and shoulder. I just need my arm warmers and I'll be set.

We only have two more episodes of Chuck left. :-( I am trying really hard to stretch them out. "Chuck Versus the Colonel," next! Aaaaah!!

I'm in a good mood because it was finally warm enough for me to wear a skirt tonight. It's been back to COOL AND OVERCAST again, since we've returned from MD. Wearying. I like my new skirt that I modded from an Uptown Consignment dress!

I'm all energized today. Wow.

My shoes came but they sent the wrong ones. :-(

I am very messed up zzzzz-wise, but I don't really care. Also, have a very large and complicated-looking bruise above my knee, and no idea how I got it. It has been developing over a number of days. I am excited about my new shoes!! I am not really a shoe person, but I got sort of obsessed with these shoes and ordered them. They might arrive tomorrow. They are exactly like my other shoes, but toast. Yes, toast.

I forgot to write about all my chatting sessions. A nice long one with Jan, Saturday evening (after our Franklin's date, which was great), and two with Diane--Saturday night and Sunday night. Best Maryland visit ever.

I love this hotel. It's so quiet, it feels like we're the only ones here. The lobby is our living room. Outside is the patio. Starry scarf last night, as a wrap. White coral-patterned beds, refrigerator hum. Didn't sleep very well last night but I never do in hotels. Not bad. Dreamt of scuba diving in the lake (our cove... went in at the rock) to retrieve our bicycles after someone threw them in the lake. [Edit: As Dean pointed out, this was clearly inspired by My Bodyguard.] It was full of freaky creatures (blue polka-dotted eel monsters that spring out at you, and creepy round wound-inducing leg-suckering anemone things). Weirdness.

Caviar & egg (i.e., eggy x 2), salt cod thingies (really good), and pig's feet (everyone kept pointing to that when showing me the menu, so I sort of had to). The best part was the strawberry-laced sangria we all consumed (ordered for the table by Jaleo-expert June), and the flan dessert that I shared with Jan. Better than the basket case (Heaven in dessert form, according to June), yes. Good atmosphere and excellent company.

This morning Diane and I went on a driving tour of the old neighborhoods, with Dean and Tim. Visited our Longbranch Drive house, Dolphin Road house, and Magnolia Elementary School, and drove by many other sites such as Diane's first two houses after she got married (I had completely forgotten about the first one, before Tiffany Court!), Lamont Elementary School (my kindergarten), the little playground at the end of Longbranch Drive (had a new boingy, not as good as the old ones), the New Carrollton library (♥), the pool where I took swimming lessons, etc. Diane is the Man when it comes to old neighborhood in Maryland tours!! Both the Longbranch Drive and Dolphin Road houses looked long in the tooth! :-(
