Bob show on the radio in the hangar! (& Dean keeps doing mean Bob impressions while wiping down Tango... grrrr.)

Great Jaffrey flighty: new arm warmers and PERFECT conditions at our Kimball Farm picnic table--sunny, ideal temp, no annoying kids nearby, and a great view of the Silver Ranch, windsock, and Tango's tail! Finally, it's warm. Feels so so so nice. The bun on my lob roll wasn't as good as usual but the lob itself was extra good. I kept moaning while eating it. I told Dean they must've treated it with Yum Sauce.

There were some June-ish looking girls offering Pony Rides for $3 (it looked like Horse Rides to us, but maybe Pony Rides sounds better). They were a total gyp--sit on the horse and walk in a circle for about 30 seconds. Zzzzzzz. Best Jaf ever, maybe! Tango got lots of compliments from a Baron, back at HFD. Tons of pretty fluffy clouds on the way! Blue, green, white. So clear. I observed that the clouds looked like a comic drawing, with outlines to delineate their edges. Except the outlines are bluegrey, not black. I forget what else. Oh yeah, Dean got a kiddie clown!

This entry is so antilinear.

P.S. There was a sign near the order window at Kimball Farm that said "The New Hampshire Magazine Best of NH 2009 Readers' Poll LOBSTER ROLL Kimball Farm"!! Yeah!! When I went back to take a pic of it so I'd remember the wording, the window girl thought I wanted to place an order, but I told her I had already ordered and just wanted to take a picture of the sign because I AGREE. She said, "Go right ahead!!!"

My extra-skinny super-long Etsy arm warmers came already!! They are reeeeeeeeeeally long, the perfect width, and are so soft and warm. I wore them to dinner at ION with a zero-sleeved top and was 100% warm even though it's all cold and drizzly again. Bamboo is a nice fabric. Sun tomorrow!

I took this online quiz solely because I like the little brain head picture that goes with it. But, apparently I got all the answers right! It was a pretty easy quiz, but I'm still pleased to know my brain is well-rounded. Lucky for me, there weren't any math, current events, or geography questions.

It's Thursday and I found an extra bag of decaf Kona Mountain Coffee while organizing the closet! Perfect timing, because I am almost completely out. It's whole bean, so I can't be a slack (must grind it), but I couldn't resist having a second cup to test it out. My grinder does a pretty fine grind, but it seems to work well with the Aeropress. I love my Aeropress.

What else? It's actually sunny! I only went outside for about two seconds, though, to bring out the trash. But it's still nicer inside, because it's not all dark in the middle of the afternoon. More rain tomorrow. Aaaagh.

Lastly, I don't want to sound like a huge narcissist, but my hair is being so awesome right now. (I don't actually use the word "awesome," but I'm writing it anyway because of Chuck.) I am really fond of it. I tried to take a Thursday photo to record it, and it turned out pretty good. That's the real color, too--I didn't tweak it! I think my hair really likes my new shampoo from Whole Foods, which is supposed to bring out the natural highlights. And it likes being washed never. Okay, being washed about every three days. So excellent, because I hate washing my hair.

That is all. Three good things! Oh, also, stripes. Stripes are very very good.

On the way to meet Dean at Brainard, I saw Tango up in the air, flying over the Glastonbury exit on Rt. 91! He looked shiny!

"Born In Time," "Dreamin' Of You," and "Huck's Tune" in the car again, driving back from MMK. Love LOVE. That version of "Born In Time" is so so so... aaagh. Well, every version of "Born In Time" is, but that one especially, with the, "You were smooth, you were rough / You were more than enough." And the part about the firelight gleaming (=campfire), and the "You were striped, you were plain." Striped! I just love it. It's like a little feral pig. I love how "Born In Time" has kind of bad lyrics, but in a gooooood way. An insanely, achingly endearing, pulls-at-your-insides way. I think that song moves me more than any other Bob song, actually.

And, "Dreamin' Of You," is just cooool. I love the menacing feel it has, like a "Blind Willie McTell," offkilter and under-your-skin like a Shirley Jackson story.

"Huck's Tune" is just pure joy and wonderfulness. Moving along, ridin' in style.

I started to write a report last night about Modern Times and Together Through Life, but I didn't finish it. Maybe I will. But today I switched to Tell Tale Signs in the car, and it's so good. So much better than MT and/or TTL. Red River Shore, Born In Time, Dreamin' Of You, Huck's Tune... just... aaagh.

Whole Foods parking lot, listening to Bob before I went into the store (crummy Treo photo!)I had to get up early today to sign papers, and I was sound asleep when my alarm rang. It wasn't that early, but I don't think I ever fully woke up. I'm cold and my shoulders are stiff and achy and I feel really exhausted. I was zombie-ing along at Whole Foods in Glastonbury (have I mentioned lately how much I love Whole Foods in Glastonbury?), when this Japanese hipster stockboy came up to me and queried, "Can I ask you a question?" I thought he was going to survey me about my shopping experience or something, and instead he started asking me all these fascinated questions about my hair, gushing, "You don't often see hair like yours." Hahaha. :-)

Then when I was checking out, the bagger and cashier were commenting fascinatedly about all the True Yogurt I was buying (Cashier: "I've never had plain yogurt!" Me, thinking: "!!!") and I told them how great it is, and that the plain variety of True Yogurt is the best because it has such a delicate flavor and the fruity versions overpower it and ruin its specialness. As I was picking up my bags to leave, the bagger commented, "Just looking at your complexion makes me really want to eat that yogurt. You have a beautiful complexion." (???!) Me: "Ha! I don't know if there's any connection, but thank you." Why do I seem to get the most compliments when I'm feeling haggard?? It's very weird, but very nice. Not that it helps my shoulders any, but it makes me smile a lot.

P.S. Berkshire Bark "midnight harvest" helps too! Best chocolate bar ever. I'm famished today.

P.P.S. oh yes, since I couldn't warm up, I put on my long(ish) sleeve Milo in Maine fish shirt with my poppy skirt (Autumn outfit recommended by Past Self), and it's so cozy. maybe people were talking to me because of my fish shirt

profile headp.p.p.s.s.s.s.s. My sister was talking the other day about people's/family members' profiles (how they are interesting, but you don't usually have pictures of people in profile view), so I took a profile Head Shot in the car before I went into Whole Foods. I don't think I have that great of a profile, but you can see my Whaples nose! Dean has a great profile. Here's a big version of the non-profile fish shirt pic above, because I like it. BTW, it's a cod, but I can still pretend it's a shad anyway.

Wine description writeup at Dara's: "Monsoon white: Pale green, aromas of citrus, passion fruit, and savory seaweed."

Yikes. That sounds vaguely disgusting. I'd probably like it, if it really did taste like that.

We watched the final two episodes of Chuck last night and I am overwhelmed. (Watching both at once was all Dean's fault. I protested vehemently, but not vehemently enough.) I have to watch them again on my Starfish, because my mind is just short-circuited. Too much to take in! And I am really really sad that there's no more Chuck for months and months and months. But at least there is more Chuck, eventually! And now I can stop avoiding spoilers.

For the past couple of nights I have slept wearing this scarf-ish wrap I made from an incredibly soft knit fabric remnant I got at Colchester Mill Fabric. It's sort of like my starry scarf, but a little less long, slightly thinner fabric, and wider in the shoulder region. It is super-snuggly. I have slept insanely well, and it's so nice waking up in its embrace, the ends flung around my shoulders/neck. Maybe my shoulders/upper arms are usually cold when I sleep, or something. I don't know, but it's incredibly nice, so far at least. And I don't even know why I tried it.

I ordered a new set of toast shoes. (The company I got the first pair from was incredibly good about admitting they were WRONG sending non-suede ones, and e-mailing me a label to return them via UPS with free shipping.) I am scared they won't be suede either, even though the co. assures me they are, but we shall see. Suede toast, not smooth toast.

Things that are very good right now:
1) True yogurt, plain flav (best texture ever; I still love it so much)
2) Dark roast Kona Mountain Coffee, made in my Aeropress (I need to mail order more soon! & I never use up coffee and need more!)
3) My hair (except when it was in Maryland... Maryland made it a little frizzy... but otherwise it is perfect right now)
4) My milkyred stripey shirt (it's so comfortable, fits perfectly, and it makes me happy every time I wear it... thanks to my Oshima Surf shirt for inspiring me to order it! best shirt ever!!) (I also have a navy stripey one and a black stripey one, and I love them too, but I love the red one overmuch)
5) Scarfy neck snuggler things, which is weird, because winter scarves hurt my shoulders... I think the discrepancy is because my new ones are t-shirt-ish material and stretchy and soft and just nice.
6) My non-toast suede shoes, and, hopefully, future toast version
7) CHUCK CHUCK CHUCK CHUCK CHUCK! (most of all, Casey)
8) The Man From U.N.C.L.E., whilst Schwinning (next ep. = "The Giuoco Piano Affair"!)
9) There's supposed to be some sun next week! A couple days of it, at least.
