1) OCR has come a long way! 2) Hm! I haven't had farmer cheese in a long time... and it's good stuff. 3) Aeropressed Kona Mountain Coffee accompanied by squares of Vosges matcha = mmmmmm. 4) It's chilly! I swept out the garage while listening to the beginning of this week's GWC (Cosmos, Pt. 2!), which is superb so far. But now I'm supposed to be working on my Chicago blog. Blogging is such a task sometimes (esp. on vacs, when there's too much to write), but when I don't do it I really regret it later, because then I can't remember. I like being able to remember. I'm still highly aware of things I failed to finish writing about: G's birthday bash, Puako dives, Gingers' anniversary. I will finish the Puako, before we go back to Hawaii (that's mostly photos and dive slate notes, so it's possible). And I will not let Chicago join the land of the lost.

I am hand-sewing a zipper onto the AAG! Why?? I have no idea, except that it's supremely satisfying hand-sewing thick wuggly felted wool.
I wasn't really picturing the AAG! with a zipper, but I think Palma needs one, for security.

Just went outside to bring out the trash, and thought, "Mmm, it feels like snow!" Then I had to drive around the circle to take down notices, and it was snowing!!! It's not accumulating (yet?), but it's snow! I LOVE IT!!!

I think watching the Mars episode (#5) of Cosmos last night gave me nightmares this morning! I loved episode four, but five not as much. I'm going to try making some salty oatmeal right now, as per my recipe that I was previously obsessed with. I wonder if I will still like it? I've been off my oats for a while.
[Edit: I did like it! Good thing I wrote down the recipe, because it's essential that you follow it to a T.]

Bob's version of "Little Drummer Boy" = wow. Just, wow. It's so good.

Salesgirl, watching me look at an orange and fuchsia scarf while wearing my bright tulip pink sweater and orange arm warmers, carrying my Autumn Bag: "I think those are your colors today." Me: "Not just today--every day."
Bagger at Whole Foods: "I like your purse!" Me: "Thank you! I made it." Her: "You did? Oh, that's awesome!"
It's not a purse, though; it's a bag. :-) I did start roughing out the AAG (Anti Autumn Gloom) bag, BTW. I don't know how it can compete with the Autumn Bag, but the Autumn Bag is starting to look a little long in the tooth, since I used it so much last year, and I don't want it to get worn out.
Actual Good Things About Autumn list, continued:
#7. Getting to use my Autumn Bag. #8. Orange arm warmers! Well, cashmere arm warmers in general. #9. 10,000 shades of orange, everywhere in the trees. #10. Bob's new Christmas album!! NONSTOP.
Autumn leaf colors make my eyes happy.

I decided that the worst track is "Do You Hear What I Hear?" That's one of my favorite Christmas songs, but it doesn't really work for Bob.
Songs where Bob's singing is kind of awful, but exceedingly endearing: "Winter Wonderland," "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (pure gravel!) (also, he sounds kind of drunk), "Adeste Fideles" (Latin!), "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Christmas Island" (wowowow, I've never heard of this song before, but it's great!), "The Christmas Song" (love it) (I kept switching categories for this one! awful, but so good, like you'd put it on repeat mode and lie on the floor in a tarnished trance... it's sick).
Songs where Bob's singing is gruesome, but hilarious: "Hark the Herald Angels Sing."
Songs where Bob's singing is pretty dang good: "Here Comes Santa Claus," "Silver Bells."
Songs where Bob's singing is perfect: "Little Drummer Boy," "The Christmas Blues," "Must Be Santa," "O Little Town of Bethlehem" (amen).
Okay, those categories are kind of arbitrary, I admit.
I love the dirty old man thing Bob has going on with the Andrews Sisters clones. Now that works for him! (Wait a minute, are they the Lennon Sisters or the Andrews Sisters??? I was referring to them as the Lennon Sisters, but I think it's more the Andrews Sisters...)

Wild Nights! Wild Nights! -- except, it's not quite night. Just missed getting rained on hard and blown away! Leaves are flying everywhere! I'm pretty sure this is the best week of the autumn, leaves-wise. Everything is shades of ORANGE!

[3:10] JUST loaded Bob Dylan's new Christmas CD into my car player... and burst out laughing as soon as he opened his mouth! Almost giggling too much to type this!
It reminds me of the Beach Boys' Christmas album!!! Oh man... I'm grinning like a goof. So glad I remained unspoilered. This is awesome!
"Hark the Herald" = hahahaha...! This is the best Christmas album ever!! My mouth hurts from smiling too huge. His backup singers are like the Lennon Sisters!
"I'll Be Home For Christmas" & "Little Drummer Boy"... beautiful. Oh, Bob. ...I'm still just sitting here in the Best Buy parking lot listening to this.
"Must Be Santa"...!!! It's like a combo of Beach Boys' Party, the Blues Brothers performing at Bob's Country Bunker, and Hunter S. Thompson. Best cut on the CD! I'm going to hurt myself laughing, here. "Ho ho ho." Bob, you are an evil genius.
Last song - awwwwwww.
Too short!!!!

I picked up my Green Toothpaste! Note: the toothpaste itself is not green! But it's still great. Check out my complete collection. Cool, huh?
Pomegranate GUS is good. Not surprising.
I'm reeeeeally tired tonight. Also, it's cold. I got some ultra snuggly new tights, though. What makes tights so warm? It doesn't seem like they would be, but they are.
Christmas in the Heart comes out tomorrow!!!

Saw three pumpkin patches today! And I managed to snap a photo of one, near Nancy's. I think it's part of a pick-your-own apples orchard, because Don mentioned that the Cafe was really busy this time of year because of the pick-your-own apples tourists. Here are two versions: 1) how it really looks from the air, and B) zoomed in a little more so you can see the pumpkins better. I also got some good pictures of the corn maze near the Putnam VOR, on the flight back. I can't figure out what it says, though. Something about "shop"? After Nancy's, we had to bring Tango to MMK for his annual, so I drove over there from Brainard to pick up Dean. I saw Tango flying along above me at one point, which was really cool. :-) When I got there, Dean was in the FBO talking to Noah! (!)
A few more pictures: 1) patchy fall trees in Massachusetts, B) UConn, on the flight home (the dark areas are shadows from clouds) (the cemetery where Grandma and Grandpa Whaples are buried is about halfway down, left of center), and 3) flying over the Connecticut river, approaching Hartford. No colored trees there!

Exclusive: NBC may move up 'Chuck' launch.
Oh, wow! Very very exciting, if it pans out! Esp. the part about additional episodes.
