Somewhere over North Carolina...

L: OK, ready, we're going to play 20 questions. Who's gonna think of a guy first?
D: I've got a guy.
L: OK, is it ARGAL?
D: Hey, no fair!!! What the heck!!! How'd you guess my guy!?

The sky today looks like an old postcard from the '50s.

Brrr! It's CRISP out! But nice and sunny. Just finished mailing almost all our Christmas cards. (Saved my close family members for next week.) BTW, Dean and I are currently tied with two apiece in our annual Christmas Card Competition. (Come on, my people! Come through for me!)

Drosselmeyer is ambidextrous. (Not left-handed like I previously thought.)

All ready for a certain secret mission. And we just finished our annual viewing of "Olive, the Other Reindeer." Best Christmas special EVER. ♥

Wow!!! I wrote a Christmas letter. It's super-long. I wrote most of it on Sunday (it took hours and hours) until I couldn't concentrate anymore because my brain was whirling in circles like a 1966 Bob (I ate a really small breakfast, then drank a highly-caffeinated cup of Kona Mountain coffee). Finished tonight. Dean made a hack-job version of it to send his people since I talk about my family nonstop. :-) He did a good job and it's not noticeable that he cut out content totalling an entire page, although a lot of my themes are lost. It was a lot of work but now I get to slack because I don't have to write anything on the actual cards!

Yep. Definitely. It's LOUD, too!!

?! I think it's lightning and thundering out!

It snowed! It only looks like about three inches, but enough for a lot of noisy scraping. I can see my Beag from the window and the snow has mostly slid off the roundy top. I think it's turned to rain now.

That lead elf in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is such a Murry!!!

That was good! It was only the second time I've ever seen it.

I got candy canes at Whole Foods today (organic ones) and we each ate one! (And poked each other when they got pointy, natch.) Dean said I had to hang all the rest on the tree so we could pick them off the tree to eat, so I did.

Oh yes, I got my first Christmas card today, from my Gs. So now we're tied. They didn't write anything on it, though (just signed their names), so I'm massively going to LOSE in the message category!!! I might as well just concede now.

In happier news, I went to the Narcissus Chocolate Cafe! I was at the Wethersfield post office mailing my sister's birthday card (because I wanted to get it in the mail today, and I was in Glastonbury, and my GPS Guy said that was the closest one), and I noticed on the GPS that I was near Narcissus! I'd never been there before, but I read about it somewhere and saved it on my Guy in case I was ever near it. It's on a little road right off the Silas Deane, not too far up. I'd already had a cappuccino at the Hebron SBUX (while writing Diane's card), so I didn't get any coffee OR chocolate, but I got a piece of pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting, and it was great. It was really fluffy and moist and tasted almost just like gingerbread, which was what I was wishing for. I'll have to try their cappuccino and chocolate another time.

Syd at Whole Foods made me guess how old he is (since he just had his birthday), and I told him I'm really bad at estimating people's ages, then guessed 25. He just turned 26. Ha! He said people usually guess younger, but I think I based my estimation on how he acts, not how he looks. I already told him I'm way older than he thinks (he was very confused previously when I told him my niece was getting married), but he tried to guess my age again and said I couldn't possibly be older than 30. Ha haha. Well, he has the right decade at least. Syd is sick of candy canes because he keeps having to draw them for the store art. Poor Syd.

My killed shoulder is a lot better now. I slept better last night, and I got a therapeutic massage at the new place in Glastonbury, and it really helped. The massage therapist couldn't believe how messed up my shoulders were, and wouldn't even give me a full massage (well, she would have if I had insisted, but I heeded her advice) because she wanted to concentrate on trying to fix the shoulders as much as possible. Then she wanted to write me a note to bring home and show Dean to convince him how serious my back issues are! Like a note from a doctor to show why you were absent from school or something. Ha! :-) That was really sweet.

Oh, I almost forgot the BEST thing!!!! ROMANESCO at Whole Foods!!! Fractal food! I was so excited when I saw them! We had some for supper tonight. No picture; it's EATEN. But it looked just like that picture on Wikipedia. It was even nicer than the ones I got at the Island Naturals Market in South Kona.

I don't know how I managed to get the camera to do this (accidentally, of course), but I love this picture. It's exactly how the Christmas tree looks without my contacts on!

Aaagh, I couldn't get to sleep until after 7AM this morning (and I went to bed pretty early) because my left shoulder hurt so much, like a dull knife stuck in under the shoulder blade. It actually feels slightly better now. I guess the 3.5 hours of sleep helped. I have no idea how I even screwed it up. Just sleeping wrong the night before, I guess.
